i know this may sound stupid... but...
You probably don't NEED to hear from me. But at my age? 43...you realize how unimportant the negatives you perceive are, and how positive the positives. Hey, even at my age, I have an friend from high school who rolled his eye's when I showed him The Fit...I think his comment was, "Well at least you didn't get a hybrid"...
But I suspect if you are growing tired of owning The Fit then nothing I say is going to convince you that it's a great automobile. Just as for me, nothing anyone say's in passing negativity is going to convince me it ISN'T a great car.
Most people I have run into actually seem to like and appreciate The Fit, but maybe at 43 I'm not running with a similar crowd?
No you shouldn't let peer pressure influence you, and ultimately it won't unless you let it. But often we have to learn what priorities are important to us, and as our life goes on often those priorities change.
I might actually be the victim of a similar but opposite "peer" pressure. Most of my colleagues wonder why I'm driving the Sporty, Young Kids Car....and not a Buick. They aren't going to convince me to turn in my economical, utilitarian and fun to drive machine....
I leave you to your decision.

seriously guys i dont know what girls you know or who you hang around with...but my fit scores me wayyyyy more female attention than my 350z did...
"ohhhh your car is so cute, and it's good for the environment too! can i go for a ride??"

The cars I owned that seemed to appeal the most to women was 1973-74 VW Things. After my son had graduated from high school he drove one of the home coming princesses around the football field in a Thing with her standing in the back holding onto the roll bar while the other girls were in Corvettes or big convertibles.... The Thing stole the show at halftime.
OP most of us have had our share of dif. cars I use to LOVE the Heck out of Muscle cars, But the Fit is a great car! "Happy Camper" it's fun and doesn't get every 2 cent hot rodder gunning his engine @ stoplights. My friend you just need to know it's not the car but the person driving it that matters
You can never satisfy men or women with what ya have it's who you are they will like.
You can never satisfy men or women with what ya have it's who you are they will like.I heard about a friend from high school that was thinking about selling his fit for a reasonable price so I jumped all over it. Yes, the car is slow. (especially going from a car that ran 11's all day at the drag strip on pump gas) but in some ways I do prefer to drive the Fit over the Evo. I don't have to fight with the twin disc exedy clutch at every stoplight, I don't have to worry about it stalling out from the massive cams in it. I don't have to worry about getting pulled over for my rediculously loud and catless exhaust. I don't have to worry as much about the Fit getting stolen (my 08 Ninja was also stolen 2 months prior to my Evo getting stolen
). I do get people trying to race me all the time in the Fit because it does have a few mods. But I just laugh to myself and think meh, I still get over 35 mpg and can outhandle you any day. I DID NOT buy this car to go fast. Yes I could put a KW kit on it or a turbo, but that would defeat the purpose of why I bought the car - a reliable, gas-saving, peppy, fun economical car to drive. I will get to go fast again when I buy another crotch rocket next year anyways
I just can't justify spending that much cash on this car when I could take that cash and go buy a nice crotch rocket again. The kit would put me at what? Maybe 160-170 whp including the other bolt ons I have? Granted, that is a nice bump in power and I'm sure it would make the car a blast to drive considering how nimble it is already.
Like I said, I can't justify dropping that much cash on a mod for the Fit especially after experiencing what half that much cash did for my GSX and Evo.
I came from a WRX to the Fit and I did not exactly come willingly. I also cannot say that I LOVE my Fit because I do not (but I am starting to bond with it a bit). That said, I wouldn't get worked up over what someone said about your Fit. They're a bunch of tools. Yes it's slow, has all the sex appeal of a Dodge Caravan and it's a bit bland to drive but it's not a 76 Chevette either, it's an inexpensive economy car. It's reliable and economical and the money I saved on car payments paid for a month in Spain last year for me and the family. That was waaaay more fun than even driving the WRX was...and I loved that car.
As for attracting women...that fold flat back seat has some real advantages

True. I have a friend that has had the KWSC on his fit since it first came out. He just recently installed the high boost kit and has been raving about it. He keeps asking if I want to drive it, but I know as soon as I do, there's $5k down the drain...haha.

To the OP
Kinda weak reasons to keep the Fit, in my book.Yeah I belong to the older crew on this forum and had my share of cars as well. Maybe you should go ahead and sell it. Many have already posted my sentiments.
To some, the sign "Wet paint, don't touch" presents a challenge to do so anyway. To others, it's enough to heed and take notice. Then there are those to whom the sign doesn't really matter because its not on their "care list" and continue to go about their business.
Here's a YouTube post I glance at every now and then. Maybe help put things in perspective: Think Different - YouTube
"Let the car show your character and not give you one." Just my take.
The Fit is not for everyone. If I had the money I'd drive something like a '70 Chevelle Super Sport but it wouldn't make me tougher, smarter, stronger or more attractive. All it would mean is that I had the money to buy one and didn't care about the cost of gas. But...I have an 8 year old boy that needs to get to school safely, soccer practice and likes to go to the zoo. The Fit may not be bada$$ but it does the job.
The Fit is a good car (for what it is) but it definitely is not for someone that cares about what others think of their car. If you don't like your Fit sell it and get something else you like better (if you have the means). If you really hate it then I wouldn't drop money on it adding performance parts because in the end you'll have dumped a buch of cash into it and still you'll hate it (been there, done that). If you are on the fence then try doing some small stuff to it to make it more yours and maybe make it more drivable. You may find you like it more and if not it's still easily sold.If you DO end up liking it more then you can go crazy with it and there are tons of folks here to show you the way. FWIW I have always found that when I work on a car myself I get more attached to it.

It's all in the attitude not the car. Your not racing so of course you didn't buy it for speed. If the paint is fading it's because you never take care of your car by washing and waxing it regularly. I'm sure a nice detail will bring it back to life and all cars get chips. I get comments from a lot of girls about my car and they love it. Your just weak minded and follow the trend. Friends are they only people that hate on my car but they're driving pieces of shit so they shouldn't even say anything.
