awesome thread, thanks for all the info.

I noticed someone asked about fuel injector cleaner before, just for fun, I've been using this stuff for years. A mechanic buddy of mine told me that the dealership he worked for would run this stuff through an engine and charge $59 for the "service". For fun he pulled the valve train apart on his 5.0 after using a couple rounds and was astounded at how clean they were. I run this through my Yamaha, Ducati, Fit, and my wife's Accord.

As with many things - moderation. I'm trying to figure a single 10 gallon tank dose.

I've got 235k on my '07 mt fit sport. Change the oil with mobil1 0w20 every 7k or so, filter every other time. K&n typhoon which I clean when I think if it. Maybe every 25k. Did a clutch at 150k. Cooling fan at 220k. Hm. Really nothing else. I don't neglect the thing but I definitely don't obsess over it. Its an appliance. A good little appliance. Runs like the day I bought it. 32mpg at 83mph for 300 miles a day 5 days a week.

Great thread, i had a question about these gaskets (in pic)
did you need these because you don't seem to need to split the intake runners, (that's where they go right?)
or did i miss something?

also what is the other passageway in the plate that contains the egr passegeway

Question NEED INSIGHT PLEASE HELP!!! 100,200 miles on my 2007 Honda Fit

I am in need of the 100,000 mile tune up. The maintenance thus far has been easy breezy. I will be in need of my third set of tires in a month or two. I have been in love with my fit as long as i have had it, I am her first owner received it with 26 miles. I have twins who are fourteen and I thought this would be their first car to share.
I have been struggling with the notion that I still owe $7,000. for this car and I have so many miles on it and by the time the kids get it it will probably have 130,000 miles.
I need to know what you other Honda Fit Freaks think about the idea of trading in my Fit for a Honda Insight.
Going Green and trying to save some green is the goal. I need help for you outsiders! Please email your comments or suggestions, I have a buyer who will give me $6,000.00 cash today.

If you got 100k with little to no cost, drive it forever or at least till the twins are ready for a car. Good lord paiy it off and save some for a large down payment on our next car. The interest on the loan is another car in it'self.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm wondering what that 2nd passage in the EGR plate is as well. Is that some sort of a vacum port?

At 990,000 also with my MT '07. Did all maintenance work myself and still running strong. Probably biggest replacement was the alternator and battery. I still enjoy revvving it high and averaging 34 in cold weather. Adjusted valve clearance and everything still looks good. Waiting for my clutch to go, but so far no problems.

I have 130K on my '08 Sport. I have done all of the oil changes (Mobil1) on it except the last one, when I went to one of the oil change places. I knew there was a cabin air filter, but never bothered with it. The tech at the oil change place checked it - boy, was it dirty! My wife had been commenting on how my car's heater doesn't work as well as hers. Not anymore...

I suppose I should change the radiator fluid. How important is it to change tranny fluid?

I'm just starting to get a problem with the RPM dropping briefly (now and then) when stopped at a red light. My gas mileage is down. Should I change the plugs and have the dealer do this valve adjustment?
