Slipping clutch?

Slipping clutch?
I bought my fit used at 19,500 miles and i am noticing now at 25000 that I am getting very abrupt tach revs when engaging the clutch in any gear. I kept thinking my timing was off, but i am pretty sure I have this gearbox timed right in my head by now. I just can't imagine a clutch going out this fast, especially considering how precise I try to be to limit clutch wear. That means my previous owner did some crazy things in those 19,500 miles or these clutches are weak?

I'm at 60,000kms on a 2006 jazz and my clutch are still perfectly fine...
about what you said with the previous owner doing crazy shieet on the clutch... what kinda crazy things could you do with a clutch anyway? just push and let go right?.. my best guess is that the clutch itself is a bad product... Bad luck on your side. Hope you get it fixed soon! Goodluck buddy

Surely to goodness if they want to keep your business they will help you out. Anybody could argue anything technically and say it's "wear and tear" but anybody who has owned any manual vehicle should know they last more than 100K-easy if they're are driven as intended.
Just explain you bought the car, but make sure you have all insurance paperwork in hand and make sure it's a transferable warranty BEFORE going to the dealer. If it's not transferable and the seller's name is on everything, ask them to come with you to get it taken care of, but you should be ok!
Best of luck!

When you say abrupt rpm change I presume it is reducing suddenly on an upshift. That just means the clutch is engaging quickly and may not be a function of a slipping clutch. If you downshift and the engine rpm doesn't ramp up quickly you indeed may have a slipping clutch.

I dont think its your clutch honestly.... I just got a fit a few weeks ago with 44k and put 1500 miles on it....Mine revs like 200rpm when I upshift..... its kinda weird, but I know what a bad clutch plate feels like and I know it is not one.

If you have enough room or can find an empty street, try revving to redline in first then quick-shifting into second. That's when the clutch...er, "delay" on mine is most noticeable. I'm not sure if it's a slipping clutch or the clutch delay valve at work.
My GD1's still on its original clutch at 69,000 km.

Rev-hang in between upshifts? Sounds like a function of the clutch delay valve. Should be normal. It happens to me too.
