Sounds like water in the dash?

Pulling away, usually in the morning, I can often hear what sounds like a waterfall in my dash. No rainfall or anything like that. No actual evidence of leaking. I've looked for acorns or nuts that might have collected but nothing. I'm afraid to take it into service because they'll charge me $50 to tell me I'm hallucinating.

Anyone have ANY ideas?

you have an air pocket in your coolant system. It happens to a lot of the GD's. If you look under the maintenance category I remember seeing someone going in detail on how to properly vent the system to get rid of the air pocket.

I had the same problem when I changed my air intake and lost some coolant. There's tons of tutorials online on how to do a coolant swap, it takes around 45 minutes if you do it slowly and carefully.

Thanks! It's probably about time for a coolant change anyway (75k miles?). I'll check it out.

I was starting to wonder if I wasn't hearing the gas slosh around under the seats. But it always diminishes or goes away after it's warmed up, so I think the coolant issue makes sense.

I was experiencing the same thing. I just let it happen all the time and it went away.

You don't need to swap the fluid, there is a very simple procedure to bleed the radiator. I used to have this problem and that fixed it.

May sound like what I was experiencing. ^ I followed the instruction on this link and it helped me.

"Sounds like air in your coolant to me too, you dont need to flush, just jack up the front of the car, while cold, remove the radiator cap and turn the car on, have the heat on high till the fan kicks on. The air will go to the highest point in the cooling system and you may have to add fluid to keep it topped off as the air gets burped." ~ SoUnFit
