About my carfax

At 22000 miles, a new clutch was installed. Is this normal? 22000 miles seems kind of low and seems to indicate there might have been a problem or somebody drove it very hard? Also, there was a mention of a recall but I can't tell if it was done.

thx

Don't forget that someone may have just burned the clutch. My cousin learned how to drive standard the hard way and burned up a "new" clutch in under 1000 miles.

Yikes! When I bought my car my friend told me having a manual transmission these days is just about like theft prevention. ha.

Do you know how many miles it should last with a driver who knows how to drive? Is there a service schedule on the forum here somplace?

AKAIK there is no typical service interval for the clutch.

Our Fit has over 60K on the OE clutch, no problems.

Our V has almost 90K miles on it.

Both cars are used in primarily suburban driving, no highway mileage, but no big-city stop and go, either.

That seems a little odd...all the teenage drivers in my family have learned how to drive a stick on my car and I now have 90,000 without a clutch job.

4 new drivers. One clutch! haha

Honda clutches burn pretty easy if not driven right, or just wear and tear. Usually at 100,000 miles your pedal will feel softer and the friction point is higher. I've had a toyota supra clutch last me 200,000 miles until I replaced it and that's cuz I started to abuse it.
