Factory Alarm Horn does not sound

I have been lurking around here for a while, and unfortunately my first post must be question =(

I have searched and search and could not find an answer to this:

So the alarm on my 07 seems to have gone crazy.

When I double press the lock button, the horn no longer sounds.
When I double lock, randomly it may sound the horn.
Opening the door after removing the key, the red light on the steering column lights up solid for a few seconds. I have checked every single fuse and they all look ok. The panic button works as well. I found a grey module with a green connector under the dash, and after unplugging it, the alarm appears to work normally. Double pressing lock will always make the horn sound, however, when I unlock the car from inside after arming the alarm, nothing happens. I have driven around with the module unplugged for around 5 minutes and nothing seems wrong with the car.

Please help!

I've had the same problem. I had to disconnect the wire going to the hood. Its under the hood latch. The car is now arming properly.
