weird sound coming from front

i noticed this today
i hit about 40 kmph and release the throttle sounds like a knocking coming from one of the front wheels
when i hit the throttle the sound disappears
the faster i go when the throttle is released the sound is louder

i originally thought it was my wheel bearing
but when i jacked up the car gave the wheels a good shake they where solid

any ideas???

How old is your car? How many kms? A very noticeable knock? May want to have a tech listen to it. Then again could be the neighbours cat.

Wheel lugs are tight on? Does it change w/ directional changes, as in slalom back and forth? With a full steering lock in both directions, low speed in a parking lot, do you hear anything? Bad/worn CV joints might produce a clicking type noise under these conditions.

First, merely shaking the wheel won't identify a loose bearing. If it did you're likely stranded somewhere. I don't think its a worn bearing either.
though it might be. Only bearing inspection would tell.
It appears to be something caught in the wheel or disc brake. When the throttle is released the wheel/tire experiences a drag and something could be reversing direction or location that knocks. Does this knock appear to happen once per wheel revolution or more often? If its once per revolution its likely associated with the rotor or hub; is more often its more likely related to a spoke.. Since it doesn't happen when the wheels revolve 'under power' but does when not under power, I'd look for something 'pointing forward so it has interference in reverse. A stick could be the source. It could also be a misbent caliper backplate coveror even the shround that contacts a rotor. It could be a loose brake pad that 'waffles' in the caliper so make sure thae pads are properly secured and clean.
Not hearing the noise and potential location thats the only advice I have but you should attend to removing the sound quickly. It could be serious.
And possibly a loose fenderwell liner. That would easily slide one way and patter the other though iyt should 'buzz' when the wheel revolves forward.
good luck.

ok drove the car today

slow speeds slow clicks
faster speeds faster clicks
left turns in parking lot light clicking noise
right turns in parking lot louder clicking noise

so ive narrowed it down to a few things

worn brake pads
cv joints
large rock stuck in tire( theres no rock)

Now I settle on a worn cv joint. A rock in tread would knock no matter whether under power or not. It could be pad chatter but its more likely in my opinion cv joints.Long distance diagnosis is always tentative. Hands on is needed.

Take a peek behind front wheels and check the inner and outer boots for cracks.
Your Fit actually doesn't have cv joints, but a drive axle w/ inner and outer joints similar to u-joints.
I would suspect the right outer, but only a qualified inspection/diagnosis will tell you.

And it still could be a bearing, but I think not.

Keep us posted on your progress - it's nice to hear what it actually is ;-)

So true... My vote goes with the cv joint also with a 2nd on bearing.

how many miles do you have on your car, and have you ever had the brakes bled, or changed the brake fluid?

Yup, from your updates, all indications point to a brake job...

Yup it was brakes but I did have a small pebble wedged in my pad so that's what made it noisier
Now just waiting to get my car back from getting all her fluids changed
Sometime next week new spark plugs and she should be running just like she did when she came off the show room floor

I have this exact symptom. I'm already planning on placing my rotors pand and shoes in a little over a week. Hopefully this is the problem.
