08 Honda Fit Base Front Struts

I have serious vibration out front and I have ruined a set of tires. I was told the struts need replacing before I got new tires. I was wondering where to get a cheap price for set and if I can do it myself or will it need an alignment.

Alignment is $80 at Honda Service, and I can handle that, just not the $600 to buy them there with labor cost.

I tried looking for the DIY Airshock thread but didn't find anything.

I have 17's

Just get a set of KYB Excel G shocks and replace them yourself. You will need various tools including a spring compressor (usually $20 at a local auto parts store). You also need to make sure you don't let the axle pull too much otherwise you'll be fighting to get the axle knuckle back in place. Just read the DIY's on here and you'll be fine.

You will need to do a front end alignment once you replace the shocks, there's really no way around that. A cheap place to buy the shocks is from rockauto.com, that is where I bought my set.
