Replacing shocks and struts?

I'm pretty new to all of this, but I was wondering if there was a DIY for replacing the shocks and struts on a 2007 Fit? I searched the forums and I saw the thread about installing the air shocks, but I just want to replace the basic set. Thanks.

For the most part, it should be the same procedure.

If anything, go to that DIY for the air shocks, follow the instructions for REMOVING stock shocks & struts... then, when you are putting in new ones, reverse those instructions.

In fact, you could also follow the DIYs for doing the spring replacements, because doing the front springs, requires complete removal of the front struts. And some folks that replaced their springs, removed the rear struts too.

Hi josh could you pm me or at least point me to the thread for shocks replacement you've mentioned here? I have used the search button and only got this thread and the 2008 diy threads.. thanks

2007 and 2008 are the same car, they are GD chassis Fits. the fit didn't change until the 2009 model year in the US, the GE chassis Fits.

In the process of replacing rear shocks and having a tough time getting the lower flange bolt off. I'm in there with PB Blaster and a breaker bar. Can't believe it took you only half an hour.

There are no "rear struts", only separate springs and shock absorbers.
