or do the most logical take the money you would spend on a motor swap plus what you would sell your fit for and then buy a faster car.

Like I said, good luck and make sure you have an enormous budget before starting. Or you are going to have one giant paperweight for a very very long time.

You would do well to pick up a $500 beater like an EF civic or something to get to and from work.
couldn't have said it better myself.

I love the idea!

I was tired of people stealing my CRXs back when, one that was stock and the other with a B18C5 under the hood so I decided to go with something crazy. I promised pics and video of my 4g63 crx - Honda-Tech
I picked up a 4G63 mitsubishi engine and made it fit in my CRX. I made the engine mounts, and I modified honda axles with mitsubishi inboard cups. I installed a dsm shifter linkage and made an ecu clip-over harness. it ran in the low 12's on street tires and was a freakin' blast to drive.
I had the time and resources and enjoyed it.

ps, I love the idea of the newer 4B11T engine. You could use the fwd 4B11 transmission and call it a day. They typically have shorter gear ratios anyways.
