Exclamation Misfire Help

Alright here is a tough one. I have an 07 fit sport that is having misfire problems. It originally threw the random misfire code then it said it was 1,3 misfiring. I cleared those and went and got a coil pack and threw it on cylinder 1. Drove it for a day and checked it showed cylinder 1 and 4 now. So I thought it was the crankshaft positioning sensor since the plugs are tied directly into it. Replaced that and its still misfiring and showing that I am misfiring on 1 and 4. Anyone have any ideas I really don't want to take it to a shop for something that I can fix. I've tried the whole process of elimination unless I'm missing something. The only thing I haven't checked is the MAP sensor.

Not hard at all still have a bad coilpack or two or three. Or bad plugs how many miles on the car? Or maybe even your valves need adjusting.

ps. your "special fonts" button stuck?

just make sure when your messing about with the coil packs you put them in the same cylinder it came out off. And since your in there might as well change out the plugs..

Coilpacks have no assigned position they can go back in any cylinders plug area before you hook them up they are not specific which plugs they go on.

I don't claim to be an expert, but on bmw and subaru engines they are. It might be once the engine has "broken" in the packs......just dont try it on a bmw engine that im sure off

I guess my font was stuck on bold. I have changed the plugs and moved the coil pack around with no avail. My car has about 140000 on it right now. So I guess the next step is to have the valves adjusted I do hear some valve chatter when its running but it has almost always had that. Is there anyway it could be the map sensor or the camshaft position sensor? I have read in other threads that the map could cause misfire issues if its dirty.

Here's another thing that's odd it purrs like a kitten when its idling but as soon as I give it gas that's when it starts acting crazy I'm about to hit up a local parts store to check my codes again maybe it'll read the right ones this time

For sure do a valve adjustment. They surely need adjusting if it's never been done.

So dropped by the parts store and now its saying that only cylinder 3 is misfiring. So here's what i'ma try I'm gonna lower the gap in the plug to see if the coil is bad all together or if it is in the process of going bad. I'll post again to let you know how this attempt is going. One good thing the guys at the parts store know me by name now.

If you haven't replaced coil packs and spark plugs in 140k miles they need to be replaced regardless but I suspect you;'ll find the stutter disappearing. Replacxing oine pack and no plugs just virtually guaranteed not curing the stutter. Valve clearance rarely affects stutter.

ok I see your point but I have replaced the plugs twice and I'm not the original owner so I really have no way of knowing if they have been replaced. I'm going to replace them anyway based on the ware
