I have 2007 Fit Sport and has really treated me well. But yesterday, the AUX button and CD button both just stopped working. They are completely non-responsive. The rest of the radio works just fine.

Thinking my battery was nearing its end-of-life (just turned six years old and hit 100,000), I got it replaced, maybe something was screwy with that and the radio code just needed to be reset. Alas, the new battery wasn't the trick.

Any suggestion on what might be the issue?

 

If it was the code then the whole unit wouldn't be working I don't think. Are the rest of the functions working - radio, power? The display? Does it display switching to CD/Aux? Could be just a burnt LED. Tried inserting a CD? Does it take? Does it eject? Just a process of virtual elimination troubleshooting on my part... Don't know...

 

Alright, so I dropped a new CD in just to see what would happen, and it worked. And then the AUX button came back to life as well.

Everything else was working fine, just when I tried to switch to CD or AUX, it wouldn't do anything. It would just stay on FM.

Bizarre, but it's working now.

 

Good! "FM" (f...in' magic) alright is what we called it in old-school electronics...
