swapped in new"used" engine, new engine wont start

I just had this problem last weekend

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/1st-...own-rings.html

so I bought a used engine 62,xxx miles, salvage yard said it was running when they got it in 2010.

I put it all together made sure everything is plugged in properly, made sure to lube the cylinders before I cranked it over, made sure there was no gunk build up in the head. filled with new oil and filter, coolant, spark plugs. turned it over and nothing. it pretends like its firing here and there but nothing.

did a compression test and got

1 155 psi
2 150 psi
3 180 psi
4 215 psi

what the heck is wrong and how to I go about fixing it?

help please, I do pizza delivery in this car and need it running again

Double-check and triple-check all the connections to the sensors, coil packs, injectors, etc. It sounds to me like you've missed something...crank position sensor perhaps? or something else....

Also check that the injectors and coil packs are wired up with the proper cylinder's connections.

grab some engine oil and pour a small amount down each sparkplug hole.

re do the compression test. if its good, the rings are probably seized up.

everything as been at least triple checker, coils are hooked up right, so are injectors, and yes the crank sensor way down in the bottom back. i know the injectors work I forgot to pull the fuel pump fuse on the first round. there is oil in the cylinders already. I poured some down there before i hand cranked the engine the first time.

could to much oil in the cylinders prevent it from running?
and even though I have above 132 psi in all cylinders, is my large gap a bad thing and why?

Is the camgear timed correctly on the timing chain? There are markings to indicate this.

Check the valvelash on the motor. make sure the valvetrain isnt holding valves open at all times. you will need to check this on a few rotations, just look up valve adjustment for process

All other parts good, have you doublechecked grounds? tranny to chassis ground is pretty important

it was a running motor when they pulled it back in 2010 and has not been taken apart, so I would hope the timing is not off. but ill check it anyway just to be sure.

I have adjusted the valves on the old engine so Ill do the same on this one.

oh yes grounds are good. I have spider ground system to chassie to tranny and block. 5 grounds in all.

the motor has a 90 day warranty but I don't really want to pull it out again.
