Disable/Program Immobilizer?

I'm curious if anyone has been able to disable or reprogram their immobilizer. The reason I ask is that I have a 08 Fit Ex that was made for Mexico. Therefore, I am unable to get a key made in the States. Yes, I've tried everything; even good locksmiths weren't able to clone me a key. I have only one good key ; hence my concern.

I've heard of some people (with other vehicles) taping or gluing a key with the immobilizer transceiver on or in the steering column next to the keyswitch, where the system's antenna is, and then using an unchipped key to operate the ignition switch itself. I don't see any reason why a scheme like that would not work for the Fit. (Since the immobilizer thingy in the key is a passive unit, separate from any remote door lock transmitters, you don't have to worry about a battery going dead in the key. It's powered by the RF signals from the antenna in the car.)
