I pay $30 at the local Merlin's for an Oil Change and tire rotation and they do just fine. I may do an oil change myself as I just got new tires so they don't need to be rotated yet but otherwise it isn't worth the trouble for the few dollars I'd save. I never get service done at the stealership. My mother had a Pontiac with a failing Passlok system and the dealer mechanics were incompetent and robbed her of several thousand dollars before a good independent mechanic was able to do it. The Dealer near me want $35 for a set of wiper rubber inserts (not installed) $350 to replace a transmission sensor that is not much more difficult than replacing a light bulb.

 

Thank you for the info. I had nothing wrong with my car when I took it into the "stealership" and I will never go there again. I bought the car there and had wonderful service until the dealership changed hands. The new guys must have thought that Christmas came early this year when they saw female 70 year old me. I will pass the word about them to everyone I know.
