Fit Stalls - Any Ideas
Fit Stalls - Any Ideas
Any one have ideas? First of all, my daughter is away at school and has my old 07 Fit as her daily driver. The reports I'm getting from her lack some detail so bear with me.
The other day the car stalled at a stop sign and would not start. (Automatic transmission, ~125K miles, new battery last year, valves and plugs done at 100K). Since I don't live nearby to her, I told her to have AAA tow it to the local repair shop. Now I'm not sure, the story is a little unclear, but I think she said they were able to start the car at the shop, but would keep it to try and diagnose the original problem.
After a day, they said the alternator needed to be replaced. So I authorized her to go ahead with the repair. Yesterday she picked up the car and some time after, it stalled out again and wouldn't start.
Does anyone have any ideas? Coilpacks? Would they go bad after 25K miles? I don't know if any codes were pulled during the diagnosis. Like I said, I'm not nearby so I can't check for myself.

Fit Stalls - Any Ideas
Rampo,
You're in luck, There's a recall if I'm correct for this issue. If it hasn't been fixed yet or has been fixed and needs re-fixing, just bring it to a Honda dealer and ask them to check the recalls for your vin and express the problem. It should be a free fix if your model matches the recalled models.

The shop is very smart
Why they did not put rebuilt engine in it?
There is no recall about stalling of 07 Fit , it applies to 1.8 engine
Need to scan for codes first if none inspect the stuff moved or disconnected during spark plug change/valve adjustment (electrical connections messed up)

So, that's for the '09 - '11 Fits. OP has an '07.
+++++++++
I could profess some W.A.G.s but more info is needed otherwise it's a waste of time. It's surely not coil packs.
For example, does the engine crank at the normal speed and not fire? Or does the engine do "nothing" when the key is turned to start, perhaps only clicking is heard or the lights get very dim?
Time for Rampo's daughter to develop her powers of observation.
