Do '08 Fits have a history of water leaking into drivers side doorwell?

About a year ago, my aftermarket stereo was cutting out. Brought to Best Buy Geek squad where I had unit installed and problem was allegedly diagnosed with water in the driver's side door well causing the speaker to short out and cause the head unit to shut them down. They showed me and it was definitely wet inside. Suggested I have the problem investigated at dealer but I have procrastinated. For a long period of time, their theory was born out, when it rained really hard, the stereo would cut out but come back when weather dried out. Now however it cuts out all the time regardless of weather. Problem is definitely on that side as I can bang the speaker and get the sound back for a spell. But surely it can't still be wet in there after several days of no rain?

Thoughts? Is their a history of water leaking in the door well for this model? I know there were two service alerts due to the door lock electronics shorting out when wet. But if water was getting in the door well, wouldn't it drain out from the bottom drain hole? The gasket seal pressing against window looks ok to me . Should my next step besides taking the door apart myself which I'm nervous to do, be to bring to garage or back to Geek squad? I really miss my car stereo working correctly.

Ok, took the door panel off and pulled out speaker so I could look inside. Initially dry but after running it thru the car wash, sure enough, water is gathering at the bottom of the door well. To be fair maybe some of it was from the car wash spraying water up and water getting in thru the drain hole. So what's happening is speaker connector harness sits right at the bottom of the water well and I'm sure gets soaked and then shorts out. I don't see signs of rust or inner door damage so I assume water getting into the door well is escaping out the drain hole and not lingering behind. So the question I have, should I just live with the leak and try to fashioning some sort of tie wrap setup so that the speaker connection harness does not sit at the bottom or should I truly be concerned about the leak and get it investigated? Dealer said it could take several hours to diagnose. I personally can't see how any other way it could be getting in there except thru the window gasket or spraying up from the bottom thru the drain hole. No water leaks inside the car which is what most of the other water leak threads discuss.
