Question Throttle Body Cleaning

Hey guys,
I want to clean the TB on my '07 Fit Sport. Will I have to do some kind of relearn after removing and cleaning it?

It's my first Honda, and I don't want to mess things up.

Many thanks!

If you did it like I did (do not touch a throttle plate!!!) no idle relearn is necessary

I always clean the throttle plate. That can get dirty too, as well as the wall of the throttle body. (Clean both sides... especially the edges, inside & out.)

The ILP is needed, yeah, but it's so simple to do, why be afraid of doing it?

ILP: Disconnect the battery terminals. (On the GD Fit, take the opportunity to check battery electrolyte under the very large positive terminal with it's Main Fuse.) Reconnect the battery, then warm up the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes. Don't count any time that the radiator fans are on. (If you have the OEM radio, you can re-enter the Radio Security Code while the engine is warming.)

The ECU WILL re-learn the idle on it's own, over time...I noticed the engine idling 300 RPM higher the one time I forgot the ILP.

How long should I leave the terminals disconnected?

My rule of thumb is 15 minutes. (That's how long it takes me to shuffle through the papers to find the radio code, and check/top off the battery with distilled water)

OR you could disconnect the battery while you clean the throttle body.
