Hard To Shift after Man. Trans Fluid Change

My 07 Fit, 130,000 miles shifts into all gears nicely. It was due, so I drained the Man. Trans Fluid and replaced it with Genuine Honda Man. Trans Fluid. The transmission shifted into all gears just like before - smoothly.

Then, ten days after I changed the fluid it took maybe 10 - 20 pounds of pressure to get it into 1st gear at a standstill, with the pedal to the floor. Going into other gears was more notchy. It all acted like the clutch wasn't fully disengaged. I check the pedal free play and it was only 1/2" which surprised me. I adjusted it to 1.5" The tough shift into 1st and notchy shift on other gears stayed the same.

I checked the fluid level. It was full. The tough shift into 1st and notchy shift on other gears was also the same.

I don't understand where the tough shift into 1st and notchy shift on other gears came from all a sudden and I don't understand how my clutch pedal freeplay got to 1/2".

Any insights? Thanks for your help.

Tranny fluid has nothing to do with clutch. Sounds like a 130,000 mile co-incidence & you've had a clutch failure. Good luck!

You may just need to bleed the clutch slave cylinder. If you get air in the line it will act like a blown clutch and the pedal travel will be too long.

I would second this. I don't see how a clutch is suddenly going to go bad. If you are at 130k mi. and you have not changed out your clutch and brake fluid, now might be a good time to do so.

The transmission fluid, and the level of it, can effect the shifting of the transmission, and the adjustment of the clutch freeplay can effect the shifting of the transmission, which is why I mentioned both in this post.
