anyone install aftermarket map lights on their 1st gen fit? I have an 08 LX and I really want map lights. thanks.

 

Map lights out of an accord fit nice. Had to chop a lot off the sunglass holder to make it fit but it's still functional.

 

very nice. do you know what year accord it was, approximately?

 

geopat, a couple of other questions. What do you mean by sunglass holder, that you had to chop inches out of. And, you don't by any chance have posted a step by step, how you did it? thanks. It looks great.

 

It was an 06 Ish coupe. Had to take a little over an inch off the back side of the sunglasses holder. I'm eventually going to do a write up just need to find some time to draw the wiring out. Everything is just tapped into the stock dome light if you are just adding in the map lights it's just a matter of matching up the wire colors. I wanted this for the garage door opener.

This seems to be for the gen 1 Fit. I have a 2013 Fit and would also like to install one of these overhead consoles https://www.ebay.com/itm/314535342692 with the HomeLink and sunglass holder. Does this same part apply to the gen 2 Fits ?

 

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...t-base-ge.html has a near-complete list of parts, just need to find the part# for the wire connector that plugs into the map light base.

mentions this is a 'GK5 connector' but google search results in widely different connector pictures.

Also, is the garage door opener powered separately? Can this be wired off the dome lights for power also or is there some other connections necessary?
