My 2 year old decided to stick some coins in our CD player, so I just repaired the unit and removed the coins, following a dependable DIY guide. I hooked up the AC control cables as they were before, but for some reason the vents are stuck on the defrost setting. I confirmed that the cable is actually moving the plastic piece as it did before, but the vents aren't changing. Anyone run into this?

 

Need more details:
if you unhook mode cable from lever does a knob have full range ?
does lever goes to the end of it's travel to defrost mode?
If not check for foreign object(s) at air mixing box which is restricting movement of the door
