Throw out bearing issue

Anyone else have noisy throw out bearing around 80,000 miles? Took it to the dealer about then, they agreed to replace it,and 80,000 miles later; its noisy as hell again. Is that the expected life span of them anymore? Is there a better one to get, other than OEM? Wouldn't be so worried except it's been getting a lot worse (now at 170,000 total miles), and I don't want it to totally fail, and strand me somewhere, and/or do additional damage.

FWIW,, if you even touch the pedal with your foot your likely wearing the throw-out bearing, most Asian import cars have little to almost no freeplay and if your one of the folks who hovers over the clutch pedal and doesn't realize it,, it will cost.. If you have to have it swapped again make them show you the snout on the transmission, they can be crooked which will prematurely wear out the TO bearing. Not all mechanics swap them. I always change the input snout on cars I drive hard if there is any visible wear.

No, I'm lazy. Keep my foot on the floor as much as I can. Appreciate the other info, will keep it in mind if it comes down to changing it out.

That's as long as ours lasts. We let the first one make noise for 20,000 or so miles before replacing. Second one has been making noise for 10,000 or so miles now.

Not thrilled with the noise or longevity of these OEM clutches, but they are tiny and cheap.

I had an exedy clutch installed (a little over 100$ for the clutch) and I'm happy and no problems for the past 20k miles. I got the basic daily driver clutch and it is a bit soft but on par with the OEM clutch.

Edit: throwout bearing is included in the kit

That's what we have in the car now. It was good for about 60k miles. Throw out bearing noise is back now.
