Wet Floors & Trunk

Wet Floors & Trunk
I bought my 07 Fit Sport used last year. The car had a pretty funky smell to it. I assumed it was just from the previous owner (who also had a pretty funky smell to him). I cleaned the sh** out of the interior, but the smell never really went away. It was a musty, humid scent.
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed water (enough to puddle) in the spare tire well. Made note, but didn't investigate further.
I drove through about 20 minutes of heavy rain last night and noticed that there was a wet spot on the passenger footwell. I pulled up the carpet and sure enough, the padding underneath was very wet.
The car has zero rust on it. While I haven't spent much time underneath it (aside from oil changes), I don't remember seeing anything that would have caused concern when I first bought it and gave it a good look over.
Has anyone else experienced this?

O ya 1 gen fits leak. It's a matter of when not if. Welcome to FF.
I have a 2008 sport and I found the seam sealer cracked on the roof under the rubber strips. I cleaned the funk off of the crack and used JB WELD and an acid brush to re seal it's been good for 3 years.
Use the search engine and you'll find a great many in your same situation.
GLWR.
The first gens are the truest form of the fit. Like all cars in America they get larger and more do - dads every model change.
Enjoy your ride

I made a post in a previous thread about this issue that might be helpful. Really the whole thread is probably a good read.

The roof rail cracks cause the water in your spare tire well. I'm not sure about the water coming in your front passenger seat; I haven't run into that one.
