DIY power outlet for the rear area
Hello all,
I know it's a bad idea to work anything that would drain the battery, but has anyone done this yet? If I was designing this car I would have located the battery on the passenger side, put in a bigger battery and put an outlet in the back, but lots of other stuff was done right.

Just use a fuse tap from the 'protected' side, and run a wire to the rear. (Fit the wire under the doorsills)
If you are planning to use the power point to supply a Lithium-Ion jump-starter, for example, you could use a circuit that is only on with the ignition. (Then, you would only have to worry about the L-I battery causing a fire! )
If you want a constant-on power source for a cargo area light or something,, use one the appropriate circuit.
If its something with a higher current draw, run the (fused) wire all the way from the battery terminal.
