Picking up an identical Fit today for $1,700. Needs brakes and tires, but I they are brand new on the wrecked Fit sitting in my driveway. So I need to swap some parts over, then get it safetied.
my wife was on a girls weekend so I'll be surprising her this afternoon. I'm racking up points for this one haha. I'll post pics tomorrow, today is pouring rain.

What a whirlwind! Got the Fit just now. Going to surprise my wife soon.
i was going to try and fix the other one but once I saw a crack in the block I was done. That night (Friday) I thought I'd look online out of curiosity and saw the one I bought. My wife was away on a girls weekend so I took two of my boys (have 3 total lol) with me to go see it and today they delivered it to me. She felt horrible about the accident so this should cheer her up!

Are there any two piston direct swaps from other Honda's? On my CL I put in nsx calipers.
for now I just want to get it up and running. The interior door panels are a little banged up so I might swap those over too.

For now, swap all the best parts of each and make the best Fit you can.

When the time is right, the Integra Type R caliper along with TSX pads and a 4 lug mini cooper rotor are supposed to be direct swaps. I have everything except the pads here and will doing it shortly.

ok that's good to know. I'll keep an eye on your thread to see how the install goes.

How hard are the door panels to remove? I'm guessing there's a screw or two near the handle and arm rest, then just start prying.

The only bad thing on the new car is the a/c isn't working. The previous owner had health issues and didn't drive much in the last 2 years. Her dad was taking it out regularly just to get it moving. I might check the relay.

Strangely, I've never had to pull our door panels. Planning a speaker upgrade at some point, so I'm sure I'll do them eventually. Here's a thread with tips...

Good luck on the A/C! It might just need a top off and leak test since it sat a bit.

in the case of a gk5, door panels are easy. only 1 philips screw to remove, the rest are just easily pry'd/popped off. best to use a pry tool, if you cherish your fingers

i'm sure gd's are equally as easy

Thanks everyone for the help.

I swapped the tires, door panel, battery. Friday is brakes and maybe front endlinks, then safety.

The paint on the new car has some blobs of what looks like sap. Looks like it's been on there for ages. Could barely pick it off with my nail. I thought I might have to do some wet sanding so I thought I'd practice on the wrecked Fit. Got the kids to sleep and started. Pretty good before/after.

Got the car safetied on Friday. Only needed a brake light bulb and front end links. But I provided those off of the wrecked Fit. I did a clay bar, compound, polish today and the paint is looking great! I love blue cars.

Long time no post. Car has had a few issues lately. It was misfiring random codes and sometimes specific cylinders. I put a new coil in one and it was fine for a week. Then same issues. Plugs and primary O2 are quite new. So I decided to do a valve adjustment. It was surprisingly easy and things went well. Intake side were mostly in spec, all of the exhaust valves were super tight. I could only get my gauge into one of the valves. Put it all back together and went for a spin. It threw a misfire on #3, so I swapped #3 coil for #1, cleared the code, and went for another drive to see if the misfire would jump to #1. Sure enough it did. Put a new coil in #1 and she's running great again!

It has a little water in the trunk, but I've seen threads on that. Also has a small exhaust leak I need to get patched.

I couldn't believe how clean the valve area was! i think I'm at about 225,000 km.
