hps short ram question.

hps short ram question.
I recently installed the hps short ram & so far I'm quite happy with it. My question is about driving in reverse. When backing into a spot or my driveway it sounds like the car sits on a giant whoopee cushion & you can feel the vibration as it happens. Does this happen for anyone else? Is it normal or did I install wrong? I'm ok with it as long as it's supposed to sound like that.

I just tried using my phone & get wind noise. Backed into the drive like 10 times, neighbors must think I'm nuts. It doesn't do it as readily when I try, maybe it's my footwork. I got a friend with a good camera I will try that.

Have the HPS Short Ram installed on my 2010 Honda Fit Sport Manual and more than 5k miles on it (& Love it). Don't have this issue. Check install - you might back up with the hood up and someone watching the intake. My guess is it is rattling against something. Perhaps there is a motor mount issue allowing your engine to move around more so than it should?

Also, I notice it happened right while you accelerated from a stop, while going backwards, going uphill. Does it usually do it then only?

it was the transmission mounts.

It sounds like it is coming from about where the intake would be (if you're in car) and you can feel the vibration in the steering wheel and pedals. the phone mount is crap and going over bumps like curb it rattles too. It seems to happen at a lower rpm just starting to go in reverse. I don't know the name of the part but there is a flapper just past the intake, it sounds like it flutters. I would think a tranny mount would feel more in the seat and frame. As far as elevation there is a dip where my curb is but my drive is quite flat and it sometimes happens when I start my turn into the drive.
thanks to all for helping me think through this

That's strange! Works fine for me. Even still, the transmission mount is what they found.
Here...I'll try a different way. It will be the first link that pops up.

Took my car in for an alignment and asked them to check the motor/ tranny mounts but all checked out. Maybe it's because i have the trans mount in my head but the more I listen and feel I wonder if my car guy is wrong. Maybe it's normal but I feel like the car waits then catches when i down shift and when I accelerate after shifting i feel a slight bump just as I let out the clutch. I'm pretty sure I'm not dumping the clutch, I've been driving MT for almost 21 years. I plan to take it to a dealership for a second opinion but any suggestions here are welcome and appreciated. I also plan to update till I find a solution so others can possibly beneFIT.

I found the cause! The fart noise was the filter hitting the plastic part between the intake and the battery. Thumb & 1st digit were the only tools needed to fix it. This has gotten me thinking about motor/tranny mounts. I'm a down shifter and would like to find more durable mounts and maybe a torque damper. This car has always felt touchy when letting off on the accelerator in 1st/2nd. I feel like the damper might help with that.
