hps short ram intake review

I love this intake! Sounds amazing. Gunna install my custom fit Megan n1 mufler from my old EF civic i sold until I can save up for a tanabe or hks. But this intake was really easy to install . I had to remove the battery to get the stock airbox out. But the install was easy just take out the stock air box put on the coupler and pipe with filter bolt tight and attatch vent hose and mount. I'll post a video of it as soon as I can figure out how to do that put I'll put a few pics in

Hi, i know your post is a few years old, but i bought a cheap ebay intake for my 2010 fit sport, and i get a engine code soon as it starts up, i put the factory air box back in, and no issues, i try to put the ebay intake in, and back to the engine code(p0171) i just wanted to see if you had any issues with your hps intake, i thought of buying that one, but bought the cheap ebay one instead , wrong choice, thanks for your time

Hi yes i did have the negative battery terminal disconnected when i was installing the intake, then reconnected the terminal when i was finished, let it idle 10 minutes, drove it around the block, all good. Then came in the driveway, let it sit about 30 minutes, started the car again to go to walmart, about 2 minutes into the drive the car kinda bogged down the drove normal that's when i looked and the check engine light was on

Aint there a maf sensor in the intake? I'd look at that if you threw a cel, maybe check the code too
i really find intake mods a little funny because as I understand it, paper filters filter better, and stock ducting is already "cai" on modern hondas, nah?
Anyways id just double check connections and make sure its all fitted properly, ducting and filter included.

Yes there is a maf sensor, the problem i read about with the ebay intake was it was a fatter diameter then the stock diameter intake tube, so being thicker the maf sensor sat higher up in the tube, and thats how the cel kept going on. I bought a hps sri and have no more cel light, the hps intake is about the same diameter as the stock, so i'm thinking that is the problem.

I could really use this help figuring out what goes where tube wise. The left metal tube being case release I’m guessing I can cap off with a breather but what am I even looking at help?

Did your intake not come with instructions?
Mine did, and it was easy to follow. I'll take a picture sometime this week if you still haven't gotten it installed lol.

I have used HPS short ram. Not worth it becasue ECU sends code after few days. If you have a re-flash or other ecu tuning modes than do it. Only this mode is not advisable.puts ecu in limp mode/no power.
basically the reason is,more air is passing now from Maaf sensor, due to free flow air filter,ECU adds more fuel to this but with times fuel trims get disturebed and ecu sends the code. My STFts were near -20. So ecu was taking this as very rich AFRs.
Not worth it

I've had an HPS short intake on my Fit for over two years now with no codes thrown.
Just make sure all hose clamps are tight.
I really like it.
