DIY lower grille insert!

I am a big fan of keeping rocks/debris from hitting my radiator, condensor unit,etc... so I decided to do what I did on my last car and install a sort of protective barrier! I just had some extra gutter mesh lying around that I bought from Home Depot and cut it to fit in the lower grille opening. It's not 100% cut to fit but it covers 95% of the opening. Sprayed it with plastic dip spray since it's black, resists chipping, cracking and zip tied it up! I know, I know, zip ties aren't the best, but it can be easily removed if I choose to take it out! Oh yeah! The thing under the car is a box fan that I attached swivel wheels to, so I can roll it under the car to help cool everything off!

This has been discussed to death already. There are several step-by-step illustrated how-to's. It was the very first thing I did to my Fit after driving from the dealership (using plastic gutter guard and very small black zip ties).

This is all true, but it's nice to see your photos anyway. It seems everybody does it a little differently. I still need to do it to my GD3 one of these days. Don't mind the hate, it's perfectly fine that you posted your own thread IMO.

With that said, some more pictures and an actual DIY would have been nice.
