Australian 09 GE base model steering wheel controls
Hi Guys
I was reluctant to start another thread about this but I couldn't find any Australian GE specific installs for the radio control.
I've seen lots of threads here regarding US installs where you guys already had the cruise control buttons present. In the Australian GE base model we don't have any steering wheel buttons at all.
I can obtain the radio buttons easy enough
But I have a few questions
- since the base model steering wheel has no buttons. I'm unsure if there will be any harnesses/sockets behind the steering wheel at all. Ie if I install the buttons I have to connect the plugs up to the steering wheel somehow.

- besides that I understand I need to route the 2 steering wheel buttons wires from the back of the wheel through to the back of the head unit. The head unit is the exact one as US models. So the other guides I can follow for this part.
- also 2 pig connectors need to be sourced to hook up the 2 extra wires.
Can anyone confirm my above observations are correct? Or better yet, any members here who have installed radio buttons on a stock Australian base model?

The harness on the clockspring should also carry wiring for the paddle shifters (if you have A/T) and a ground for the airbag. Whether or not it has other spare connections or if it's trimmed back like on the American models, can't say unless you open it up.

Thanks for heads up.
To further complicate it some more, the model I have is a 1.3L with a auto box, so no paddle shifters. I have L,D2,D3,D not S like you guys
I haven't seen any autos with paddles (I know CVT's come with paddles)

Just looked on their website, they come with paddles now so I guess you missed out. Kinda like how we did with the radio controls in the Sport and many other similar things.
