2012+ sport interior trim conversion

With my upcoming double din HU upgrade I have to get the navi console so I decided to get the darker 2012+ sport console.

In order to match, I am planning on upgrading all the interior bits:
- both side air vents
- middle vents
- instrument panel
- upper glove box
- navi console
- AT select garnish

I have looked up the prices of the parts and its not terribly expensive, however, I cannot for the life of me figure out the part number for the shift select lever garnish?? anyone have an idea, if i go the parts diagrams online I cant seem to find it...........??? Am I blind, I was able to find the other parts easily enough....

Glad you found it kman. I saw a newer interior the other day when I picked up my ATF. Looks pretty nice, would match my climate control chrome garnish.

Post pics when you're done.

- both side air vents.. in my case they came black.
- middle vents... what's to do with them? The upper model here has a shiny line on the buttons
- instrument panel.... the only thing to change is the color of the side circles, which if you order the piece you will pay for the gauge upper cover as well.. what i did was I painted.
- upper glove box.. have to buy it.
- navi console... for me was difficult to find the part in black for the Navi here in China, so i used a second hand radio from Upper models ( for the time being)...
- AT select garnish... dont buy the old leather from Honda, but an Honda Access, Japan has nice kinky combinations...

Now, If you want to have even a more kinky one... Get a Fit Shuttle steering wheel from Japan... oh lah lah...

Nice pics, I will probably do my install next year, have enough projects on the go this year.

I like how the painted items look, how close a match was your paint to the Honda gunmetal colour (i.e. to the new upper glove box colour).

My initial plan was to use the 2012+ chrome accents......but the dark painted gauge circles and steering wheel garnish looks good too.

Just ordered this..

Looks like I'm going to have to remove the whole center console to install it though.

Nice, let us know how the install goes and the procedure. This is the one part that I am unclear as to exactly how to install.

From what I can tell it's just attached by tabs underneath the center console itself. I will take some pics as I install it but from this photo from somene else you can see it's just clipped on:

I didn't realize that the shifter doesn't come with the Shifter lock cover so I just had to order this part #

Honda SKU: 54714-TF0-981ZA

For right now I am just using the silver one:

This is the bottom of the stock shifter

I have the labeled the following:

1) Remove the stock center portion from the original shifter and transfer it to the new cover

2) You also need to remove this section and transfer it to the new cover, it is the illuminated gear selection indicator

3) You can use a small screwdriver and that will release the tabs from the shifter mounting area

Step by step directions:

1) Shift car into neutral and apply emergency brake

2) Remove shift knob by removing the bottom cover and two screws

3) Remove plastic cover over emergency brake section

4) Remove clips from front section of the center console

5) Remove the screw from the far rear section of the center console

6) The center console should now completely slide out

7) Undo tabs of original shifter cover (3)

8) Remove stock illumination cover (2)

9) Replace OEM's shifter center section (1)

10) Reinstall center console (2 front clips, 1 rear bolt)

11) Reinstall shift knob

END

Thanks for posting this.

What exactly do you mean by stock illumination cover? the housing that holds the LEDs?

I know I kinda asked this already, but since you had to transfer the illumination over you must've gotten a good look at the underside of the indicator part that shows "P R N D S". Does it look like this section that has the letters is removable/transferable as well?

Again I'm interested cause mine doesn t have S mode and I would like to get this someday. So I was thinking I'd just borrow that part from my stock one.

Thanks!

I didn't know that to call that section that has the P R N D S but yes that part is in fact removeable and I had to transfer it from the stock section to the new one.

I think you should be able to easily remove it and transfer it a sport version.

As you can see from this pic if you don't install the power source it can be easily removed:

I hope that helps!
