Heater control lighting turned off after radio install Metra harness Need Help
So on this past Saturday I installed a Pioneer AVH-2600BT double din head unit. I used the Metra 70-1729 wire harness to splice to pioneer unit, and then clip into the factory radio harness. When I first spliced the harness I put the pioneer orange/white wire to the metra orange wire & orange/white wire. After mounting the unit and turning on the car the heating control system stopped lighting up, so you can't see the knobs clear at night. The next day I then cut the butt splice between these three wires and then spliced the pioneer orange/white to the metra orange wire. After that the heater controls still didn't light up. Should I now splice the pioneer orange/white to the metra orange/white? Also if anyone has caused a fuse to blow from wrong splicing. What fuse controls lighting the heater controls? What is the fuse power? Need help wiring this metra harness correct so I can see my heater knobs at night. Thank you very much for the help.
#29 fuse which is 10 A Control the following including Heaters control lights. If the other things work then I would say you cut the wire to the heater control lights.
Right front parking/side marker light, Left front parking/side marker light, Right taillight, Left
taillight, Right license plate light, Left license plate light, Hazard warning switch light, A/T gear
position indicator (A/T), Steering wheel switch light, Rear window defogger switch light, Audio
unit light, A/C switch light, Heater control panel light, Power mirror switch light, Passe

Ok so tonight I re-spliced orange/white from metra harness to orange /white from pioneer harness. Since solid orange from metra to orange/white pioneer is not correct and blew fuse #29. After re-splicing harness I then opened cabin fuse panel under steering wheel and pulled fuse #29 which is a 10amp fuse and it was blown, due to me connecting the wrong orange wires together. Thank you for the info earlier Black3sr, you saved me so much time. When I was testing fuses with light stick #29 was lighting, that's why I didn't realize I had a blown fuse on top of wrong splice connection.
