Pyts- Hats off for clearing this up..ive found no time today to look into it today unfortunately but i will tomorrow for sure. in the meantime tho, i was almost certain there had to be a separate reservoir holding the anti freeze because it just didnt make sense that the previous (ie original owner since new) a woman who tuned her car at the dealership, would have driven a new car, that many miles on simple water IN NYC..
At any rate, i'll follow up with my findings..

What Pyts is showing is to catch any overflow of antifreeze from under the pressure sensitive radiator cap (probably anything over 18-20 psi) rather than having it drip on to the ground. There is no need to have anything in that reservoir because the system doesn't reuse / draw the overflow back into the radiator unlike the sealed systems I've seen on VWs and an old Saturn I had.

When the engine is cold, open the radiator cap, test that fluid to see if it's Honda 'blue" antifreeze and also run a freezing point check not that you'll have to worry about it much in Calif unless you head up into the mountains.

On 205/50-16 tires on the OEM Sport wheels (16x6?) - The tires will look under inflated because the wheel is a little too narrow for that tire width. Depending on the tire's wall thickness, you should notice that the steering is 'twitchy' / delayed a little bit with that current setup. I bought some 16x7 wheels ( size was recommended in tire manufacturer specs) and the 1" wider space between the beads helped (205 -185 = 20mm and 16x7 - 16x6 = 25.4mm). I was playing around with the Continental DWS, which in my opinion has real 'soft' sidewalls at the time. These wore out in 30K miles (not good for winter driving anymore) and now I have General RT43 on and they don't appear to be wearing much at all (at approx 30K miles) and seem good enough for me dry / rain / snow (Pennsylvania).

Tire pressure is another art form. It's my opinion that the larger the tire size, the less air pressure is needed to support the same amount of weight. For example bicycle tires: skinny tires can +100 psi and fatter tires can be +60 psi (one bike carrying one person). So the FIT Sport's door jam recommended psi of 32/33 is for the 185/55-16 tire but on a 205/50-16, that might be over inflated for the same weight car. Be aware that if you run a lower psi, you run the risk of setting off the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) low psi alert, which for the Sport's 185/55-16 / 16x6 rim is around 27 psi. I have a lot of seasonal temperature change in Pennsylvania, so if I ever got the low psi alert, it was in the Fall / early Winter when the temps had a significant drop. I was always OK after I adjusting the psi during colder weather.

Spike55- Thanks on both counts man..yea the radiator check (in daylight) revealed that indeed there is the blue color present in the radaitor..i would have definitley thought it very odd that a car with this low miles would be running on just pure water. The tip on the tire is also welcome news.
