Random alarm activation on Fit Sport , proven solutions ?

I have a new to me 2009 Honda Fit Sport , the alarm wen off last night at random, I was able to unlock / lock and it went off , after the second time I just went out and made sure the doors were unlocked so the system was not active.

I have done a search and see there are 3 possible solutions to the issue . Nobody really indicated a definitive fix .

Solutions found
1) Replace Key fob battery , The previous owner said one of the key batteries was low and that was causing this for him. I have 2 on order right now
2) Disconnect hood latch sensor , there is a youtube on this for a Honda Odyssey
3) Replace hood latch , I am totally fine spending the $85 or so for a new one if I know this will fix it

My preferred option is to disconnect the whole security system altogether , but I have not seen how to do that ,

Since this is a random problem I don't know if anyone replaced the batteries and 3 weeks later it started again , or replaced the hood latch and it started again , not confident people follow up on their threads.

So what do you think ? Comments ? Suggestions ? Known fix ?

I would start with the battery replacement since they are on order and ohm out the hood switch with a multimeter. Look for any torn or frayed parts of the hood switch and its cable.

Temporary solution

Hi. I just wanted to add my temporary solution, following a fellow fitfreak user advice. He mentioned he cut the wires that go from the latch sensor and just tape them with electric tape. I just opted to unplug it for the moment since at some point I may want to keep the functionality. But if you are in a situation where its late, you don't want to be hated by your neighbors, and don't feel like disconnecting the battery. To access the latch you need to remove 6 push clips for the plastic cover, and try to squeezed you hand below the latch the connector is below, right where the structural front and latch meet. Good luck to you all.

Hi there im having the same issue as your i removed so many used wiring that was found in my car installed by the ex owner until my neighbour make a complain to LTA so what i did with LTA advise
go to the front bumper of ur car fine the main manufacture horn that is in silver color unplugged it .So if your car is auto activate its wont sound the alarm at all only u can see the blinking light on n off for 3 times and when off.
But your car still in locked all the 4 door.
i also disconnect the hood sensor .
i have waste alot of money spending changing the door latch but still the same ,but LTA officer advise 10 yrs car its been in this situation so the best jus disconnect the manufacturer horn.
its will solve your problem like mind.
