Tires for a 2008 Fit Base Model
Hello all,
So I am hoping to get good tires for my Honda Fit 2008 Base Model. Costco has a great price on Michelin - Defender T + H BUT they discontinued the 175-65r-14. So these are 185-65r-14. The people at America's Tires said it was fine, but I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts. Costco might not be willing to install, since it doesn't match the specs (175-65r-14), they can be sticklers. If anyone has any advice I would very much appreciate it.
Thank you!

First of all, welcome to the forum. Checking with tirerack.com, the diameter of the 175-65-14 stock tire for your car measures 23". The one size larger 185-65-14 tire you're considering running, has a 23.5" diameter. Tire revolutions per mile are 884 for the smaller stock tire and 903 for the 185. Simply put, you shouldn't have a problem running the slightly larger tires. The only difference you will experience is a slight difference in the speed your speedometer shows you traveling and the slightly faster speed you'll actually be going- probably a 1 mph difference at higher speeds. I hope this helps.

Are you sure you tire size is 14”? I installed these MICHELIN DEFENDER T+H 185/60R15 84(H) from Costco on my 2012 Base Fit and I like them more than the Continental tires that were on it. They were $ 385 out the door, the size difference only effects the speedo 1 mph at 65.
