Hello folks. I'm going to be looking at some Fits. All will have less than 130,000 miles, and it's looking like most of them are 2009 and 2010. I used to have a 2007 Sport with the MT, but this time around we'll be looking at the automatic (mostly because that's what's available).

What are some common issues to look out for, other than the plethora of airbag recalls?

 

Look closely for signs of rust...esp along the door bottoms.

 

Lost Motion Spring recall. Also check for wet carpets, particularly on the driver & left passenger side; problem with the door seals, I think.

 

Definitely see if the Takata airbag recall work has been done.

 

Checked the VIN for recalls before we purchased, via Honda's owners website.

Thanks for the tip there about the floor mats, hotkey. I did know about the seals and inspected those, but have not looked at the carpeting.
