@ommegga: Awesome ride, my friend. Hope you will give continuous full reports on how it is.

I nearly bought an FR-S (same as the BRZ), but I can't get my head into boxer engines.

I respect the WRX and STi, but for me a sports car is a rear-wheel-drive kinda thang. Great car, tho.

Congrats on the Rex. That was on my list before I got my GTI. Enjoy it.

Thanks guys!

This is completely different beast compared to GE8. I test drove CVT and it was much more tamed than the 6 speed.
The car handling is insane!

Hi Ommegga,

I have a 2012 with just over 100K. Never have had valves adjusted or new plugs. Did you notice anything that you needed to have them done or just because it was time? Did you do them or have them done? and how roughly what did it cost?

I've had somewhat less issues than you but have noticed minor suspension creaking, I think ever since I bought it new. Used mine like a pickup Been a great car! Don't drive that much to really justify a new or used car.

Thanks!
Devin

Getting them done at 100k normally is preventative maintenance. Guys who miss this usually start seeing cold weather stalling issues around 140k. Second gen likes to tighten on the exhaust side, and won't let the exhaust valves seal perfectly anymore. You could DIY it for the cost of a set of feeler gauges and a valve cover gasket, or pay a local mechanic about $300. Honda wants 4 hours labor to do it themselves.

I have done it just because it was time. Can ran fine prior but I have noticed slight decrease in power and lower mpg.
I did it all myself. Bought new OEM valve cover gasket for the valve job and new spark plugs and bunch of tools that made job easier.
If I didn't need tools ( nothing special just felt like splurging on new set of sockets and spark plug wrench that swivel) it would have cost me less than $60.
Dealer wanted $400-$600.

Spark plugs are pain in the a$$ but it can be done if you have the tools.
