Cruise won't engage: '09 sport trim manual

Today my cruise control won't engage. I can turn the cruise control on and off but the toggle switch won't engage it. Thank you for your help. I have 210k miles on the car.

The car will look at brake pedal position as well as clutch position, if you have it. Ensure both sensors are sending correct info. You'll also want to check the fuse that controls this just in case.

Thanks. How do I check for these? Meaning what equipment do I need. Also, where is the fuse located?

Fuse #24 controls brake lights and horn, #44 is clutch switch or shift lock on autos. Far as sensors go I went looking, the car is supposed to throw a code for out of spec voltage on the brake pedal sensor. So if no light I'd assume not. If you have a manual there is a two stage sensor on the clutch. One is used for the starter to crank, the other is referenced by the car for cruise control.

Thank you very much. The rubber stopper for the clutch sensor pin deteriorated. Need to buy a new one. I taped a temporary obstruction for now. Glad it was just mechanical.
