Removing O2 sensor on a 09 Fit

Long story short, acquired this car from family member, ripped out exhaust, when removing the Cat, the bolts sheared on the manifold down pipe. Am on my way to removing the manifold but I’m stuck on this O2 sensor that is holding in this heat shield. I can’t get any kind of grip on it and when I do it won’t budge. I also can’t remove the connector clip on the other end of that wire. Any ideas/tips are appreciated !

Oxygen sensor

You need an oxygen sensor socket to get a good grip on the oxygen sensor. I noticed you've applied something to help break it free so that's a good start. Get the proper socket and it should break free. Heating and then applying solvent should help but you will probably need a new Oxygen sensor after that procedure.

Use wd40 on the connector clip as a lubricant. Make sure the battery is disconnected so you don't short out anything. Wd40 is fine on electronics in moderation. Wd40 stands for water displacement.

those tend to be a pain. go to auto zone and buy the socket needed for O2 sensors

Thanks for the replies guys, my post took forever to post as it was my first on the forum. Ended up getting it off a few weeks ago with a sensor socket and some finesse, and the new cat and catback exhaust is installed👍
