Grill mod

Having lotsa time off (laid off), I've been fixing up my 2010 Sport as much as I can. The grill looked pretty grungy, so I took it off, cleaned it and painted it. Then I thought why stop there? I had some plastic gutter guard, so i glued it to the back of the grill (I'd already done this on the lower grill). Then I thought why not cut out the background where the emblem is and put some there too, for more ventilation? It was some work-I had to buzz off the backs of the pins on the emblem to remove it and carefully cut the backs of the recesses behind it. I'm happy with the results.

The fit doesn’t need more ventilation. All this does is increase drag.

The main reason for the mesh is to prevent small stones damaging the radiator. I also did the lower grll previously.

How hard was it to remove? I was looking at my grill the other day and it's more grey and not black and could use a spray.

Not hard, you pop the clips on the top cover and remove it, then more clips on the grill. Takes little more than a minute or two. This covers the removal, which is all you really need to know:
You will likely need more of those push in fasteners, as they frequently break.

Looks clean! Love the OEM look while improving airflow and freeing up some ponies!

Thanks! The mesh is to keep flying pebbles out,, but I thought a little extra air can't hurt (where the emblem is). If nothing else, the gloss black paint looks better than it did before.
