Bolt on idler pulley 08 Sport

Hi,
just replaced seized idler pulley with aftermarket pulley, and it fell off while driving. Seems the bolt is loosening after each ignition. Tighten the bolt too tight and the pulley does not spin freely. Any remedy to this?

Sounds like you're missing a washer or spacer that would keep the inner bearing race stationary.

Do I have all the right hardware? Can’t seem to find a diagram with the proper configuration.

I'm not sure, but there's a lot of damage on that black cover (or whatever it is). I bet it's binding the pulley up.

That’s exactly what was happening. I installed it without that thing, and it’s spinning nice and free, while the bolt is tight. Thanks for the help🙏

Nice! I'm glad. Make sure there's no side-to-side play. That dust cover took up some amount of space that is now free. Hopefully the bolt had enough threads to make up the difference.
