Fit camping season inspiration! Canoeing! Bikes! More!
Hi all, new to the forum, bought my 2009 Honda Fit a year ago, and have been really enjoying it. What a fun car with room to boot! I've looked around a bit but haven't found exactly the answers I'm looking for so I thought I'd pop them in here and also start a thread on camping!
Looking for advice to carry a canoe on my Fit. I used to have a Volvo station wagon which obviously made it a breeze but am determined that there must be ways to do it and make it safe. Have you done it? How was the driving with it on top?
Bike rack! What kind should I look for and use? Never had one before ever so I am clueless about where to start.
Any other hot tips for camping with a Fit? Have you turned yours into a sleeping bed? Show me your amazing Fit camping pics for inspo!
So excited to join this geeky little corner of the internet and hello from Alberta, Canada! 👋 Rhonda the Fit on a camping trip last summer.
Hello from one province over to the west. The Fit is an amazing little car. Looking forward to everyone's photos, and tips. That picture you posted is the best Fit pic I've ever seen.

Wouldn't setting up a hitch for towing a trailer be a better option? There was a thread here a year or so back where someone had hooked up a trailer hitch on his Fit. It requires some modification because as is the Fit isn't setup to handle a hitch. But IIRC the mods were very simple to do. My main concern was the risk of the hitch hitting the ground considering how low the Fit is. He said that wasn't an issue.
