Ignition won't turn on

Key won't turn the ignition anymore. It started with the key being harder to push in.....got worse quickly......now key won't turn ignition.

Any ideas?

Have a new ignition switch assembly on order....... $750 .....insane.......

Ignition

Try lubricating the key mechanism first. Don't spray too much lube into the key assembly and get oil all over the electronics in the steering column. Best of luck. Clay

A worn out key, my good sir, could cause your problem. You can purchase one from College Hills Honda for, I believe, $60. Then a programming may set you back another 50. You may also be able to buy a blank key and transfer the computer chip from inside of the original. Some graphite lubricant (i think graphite is what's recommended. I believe it's supposed to be dry) may serve to get your key in and out while awaiting a replacement.

I'd recommend not using/forcing a key that is binding unless it's truly necessary. Could lead to damaging the ignition switch which, as you mentioned, is much more expensive.
