windows rattling over bumps

Has anyone looked into thr cause of this? Is the glass bolted/riveted or wedged into the regulator? It's might annoying and for this reason I drive exclusively with the windows rolled up or all the way down. It's not a really bad rattle like the glass is about to break but just enough of a rattle that it's annoying to me

All 4 windows do it

Did a full thingy on window motor/regulator replacement in this thread.
Window vibration was the primary fault I was addressing, but I still haven't taken the car for a drive to see if it vibrates. At any rate, everything pertaining to the window mechanism is shown therein, with the exception of replacement of the rubber channel.

Personally wasn't satisfied with the Aisin replacement and will be looking at other assemblies to see if any have more structured guides with less play. I'll follow up after I drive it.

Edit: if you go ahead and do the job, get the wai global full assemblies from rockauto. <-- direct link. seemingly OEM. motors separate cost like 80 bucks 😂, assy. with motor costs 60

In one of the pictures one the bolts that holds the glass in place looks oblong and like it has room for movement. Was that bolt loose when you took the pic or did you loosen it.

Not a thing was loose (the hardware, I mean). the plastic guides wear as they slide up and down the rail.

Updating post drive.
The Aisin regulators (up down slidey rail mechanism)
are trash. Did improve window vibration, but didn't resolve it. Their design has too much play. I'll be purchasing Wai Global full assemblies and doing the job over 😂 I'm confident that will resolve any vibration issues, as the "regulator assembly" is what's responsible for fastening the actual glass to the car. The window channels are doing their job well enough if they dont leak and the glass doesnt vibrate when the windows are fully closed.

As to why regulators fail (besides wear) as shown in my thread linked above, the guides had cracks in them that seemed to facilitate the window rocking, the top of the window being able to lean in towards the car and out away from it, vs. side to side where play was minimal on the OEM assemblies.

I'm confident that replacing the full assembly would resolve the issue as there's really nothing else to consider in regards to causing the fault. Added benefit, you'll get fresh window motors that should go up and down with relative ease provided the channels arent packed with debris.
