Innovative Mounts Questions (GE8)

Hello everyone!

I recently purchased some innovative mounts for my GE8 and I have some questions. First off, I definitely like how they feel. Unfortunately I didn't receive any hardware in my box and I'm awaiting a response from Innovative Mounts to have that mailed to me. For the time being, I'm using hardware that I purchased which was pretty close to what I think I needed just to get them on the car. The stock trans mount bolt worked fine and one of the rear engine mount bolts worked fine, but all of the others the OEM bolts would not fit. The vibrations at idle are a little much, but with any amount of RPMs higher than idle, butter smooth, which is odd, but I get it, more solid of a mount.

Now for my questions. I tried looking for these answers but couldn't find anything on a GE8

- The rear mount needed trimming and the sleeve filed down to fit on the front, Is that normal?
- What sequence are these supposed to be tightened in?
- Where can I find torque specs of each mount?
- What orientation is the rear engine mount supposed to go? I attached images of how I have it and the trimming I did. It is hard to see but the top and sides of the bushing had to be filed down. I had to remove the bracket that was with the OEM mount entirely to get the front of the mount to fit.

Thanks!

UPDATE:

- Innovative mounts confirmed that the rear engine mount was sleeved wrong and will be sending me out the correct mount and hardware.
- The vibrations that come from these mounts are way more than I anticipated. I like the solid feel of the car, but my steering wheel, dash and wipers bouncing at idle is not fun.

UPDATE 2:

- Innovative mounts sent me the correct rear engine mount and hardware for the passenger side mount
- Depending on if I like these once installed correctly, I may keep them or I might sell them and get Hard Race mounts instead.

You wound up being the one helping us!
Still need torque specs? I know they're in the manual for the mounts, but for the mount brackets I couldn't find any specs. I can pull the ones for the mounts

I've also read that folks keep their mounts just snug and idle cars for a few minutes before torquing. I've never tried it, but I would before going to the trouble of another swap.
Is your engine itself running nice and smooth?

I found the specs for what I was looking for in the manual! I didn't have time to reinstall the mounts today, once I get them in I'll try leaving them loose and then tighten in sequence. I'm still unsure of the correct orientation of the rear engine mount. I think the way I had the first one is the correct way. I'll see if these mounts are for me once I have them in. I'm leaning more towards Hard Race since they're more of an OEM+ option, but don't want to drop another $400 before getting suspension done.

I've had my mounts in for about 2 months. I had the same issue with the rear mount. I trimmed the sleeve as well. I got lucky with the trim job and only required minor linear impacts to get it into position. I also believe your orientation is correct. Mine did come with 2 large metal washers and a bolt with nut on the engine mount. None of the pictures on their website show these items.
Honestly for the first 2 weeks I was having second thoughts. The noise and vibrations, though expected, this was our third fit with innovative mounts, it was more than I really wanted. About a month in and it's totally livable. There are still a few rpms that produce some annoying sounds and vibrations but up shift, down shift, usually solves the issue. 4k for 2 hours was fine, just don't try to talk to anyone in the car.

It affected noise levels that badly? Man.. That really made my mind up for me. Thank you.

I still have to bring these to work and install them. I'll give them a chance with the correct mount and hardware. If not you'll see them up for sale if I replace them with hardrace mounts. OEM mounts are too soft/bouncy for my liking. Off topic but I just finished installing Acuity shifter cable bushings and an AFE Takeda intake. Enjoying the sound a lot and the bushings reduce some slop.

Update. Installed the new innovative "torque rod" and followed Honda's torque spec. My OEM bracket actually bent from the 60ish foot pounds of force and the rubber on the front of the mount actually tore after maybe 50 miles of driving. Not too thrilled with these. The only mount out of the set I don't have a complaint about is the transmission mount.

Ya that's a no from me as well. That bushing is going to fail prematurely from the tear. Really makes no sense as all it needed to be correct was a slightly shorter inner sleeve for that mounting location. Was it the subframe mounting location or the aluminum bracket in the foreground of your pic that bent?
