The recommended iridium spark plugs are pretty expensive here for putting into my cheap daily driver fit. Has anyone put copper plugs into their L13 vtec fit?
I was thinking to go with the NGK BKR6E-11. Any reason I can't use these plugs? The iridiums are gapped to 1.3mm, should I gap the BKR6E-11's to 1.3? or leave them as is?

You can use an alternative but I wouldn’t recommend it. The plugs last an extremely long time on these cars, you will notice a drop in fuel mileage. You can find laser iridiums cheaper on sites like rockauto for about $12.00 each

 

Thanks. Unfortunately, iridium plugs are around 40 NZ$ each in this land of price gouging. I also don't expect to keep the car another 100k km, so don't mind the shorter life plugs
