Another cold day of driving, and another day the EGR did nothing!

 

It's warmed up a fair amount now, and the EGR has been very active. It think it is very much dependent on load and temps.

 

what are your intake air temps while it’s in operation?

 

Well I've got my upper grill, and half of my lower grill blocked, along with the intake ducts in the grill panel, so it's usually roughly 15-20* above ambient. This morning was low 40's intake temps

 

So interestingly enough I was sitting in a drive thru for a longer than normal time, my intake temps were at 0-1 degrees Celsius before this. While I was waiting they rose to 15 degrees Celsius when I left my egr began operating, even after my intake temps went back down to 0 it was still operating 🤷🏻‍♂️. So I guess that’s the ticket is the intake temps have to be above freezing, I’m going to have to look somewhere else for my horrendous fuel mileage.
