Beware of aftermarket LEDs in these cars. [Edit]

I just necro’ed an old thread to male this and figured that I should make a new one. I bought these LEDs for my brake lights in my 2012 Fit.

Alla Lighting Newly Upgraded T20... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EEI9LSU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

They cause a weird problem. Whenever my blinkers were on the car would not accelerate. So imagine trying to turn into traffic and your car suddenly starts jerking and won’t accelerate? Or you’re driving and need to change lanes and you start to jerk and lose power? It took me hours to figure out. It must interfere with the throttle position sensor or the ecm somehow.

I noticed that it only affects the car when your foot is on the pedal or you are in cruise control. If you use your blinkers while at speed and take your foot of the pedal nothing happens. But soon as you try to give it gas it starts to jerk and lose power or won’t accelerate if you are trying to get up to speed.

Just wanted to warn anyone who may not know already.

Nevermind, I took a second look at the wiring and someone did some wild shit on passenger side tailight wire harness.

No LED headlight bulb upgrade out there will cause your car to lose power. You clearly have other issues going on there. Because all LED's draw less amps and power than stock halogens ever will.

It’s worded it badly. The car isn’t necessarily losing power, because if you take you don’t try to accelerate while the blinkers are on nothing happens. But it is making something weird happen when you try to give it gas. It’s messing with one of the sensors.

I read this post first and thought it sounded like it was triggering the safety feature where the car cuts power when the brake and throttle are engaged at the same time, then I saw your necro.

My 2010 does not have traction control so I can left foot brake without the power cut (which comes in handy for rallycross/autocross), but it seems like in your case the LEDs in the brake lights are causing some confusion in the system. Thanks for the heads-up, I am sure this will help someone out there with a very confusing diagnosis!

Alla Fubar'd your car.. Sounds like poor quality LED bulbs that are causing bad grounding or electrical interference when in use.
