2011 Fit - Limp Mode Randomly

Hello all,

I have a 2011 Honda Fit. I am at 107k miles.

On Monday of this week I was driving home and I turned onto a road from a stop light and the check engine light began blinking and my car went into "limp mode" (I think) where it would not drive any faster than 30mph.
I got the car home and shut off the engine and went in the house to grab my OBD2 scanner.

The scanner pulled no-fault codes.
Fired the car back up and it drove fine.

Today I am driving home from work and it went into limp mode again where the check engine light was blinking, but I was super far away from the house so I pulled over and killed the engine, and fired it back up. Pulled back out and it went into limp mode instantly.
Stopped the car again and let it sit for a few and then fired it back up and drove it home normally, but this time the check engine light and the traction control light were stuck ON.

Left the car running and scanned for a code and got P0303 which seems to be a misfire on cylinder #3

I am not really sure what to do from this point.

I am not the original owner of this car, so I don't know if replacing the spark plugs would just resolve the issue.
I am also unaware of the last time the plugs or coils were replaced.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the issue based on my problems this week?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Kind regards,
Chuck

If you're lucky, loose spark plug on cylinder #3 (check them all!)

See Sticky Post Poll regarding GE8 spark plugs in Sticky section for much detail. I just posted a YouTube video in said thread of "almost" worst case scenario if not addressed.

I did just happen to come across that thread on the forums.
I will definitely give that a look today. I will probably pull the spark plugs out just to see how they look as well.

I saw that someone said 20ft/lbs - A few videos I watched said 13ft/lbs.
Should I meet in the middle?

Limp Mode

I had this happen on our 2011 odyssey and it turned out it was the alternator. It wasn't generating enough current, so the car went into limp mode until fixed. very scary on the road.

Update on this:

I did happen to tighten down Cylinder 3 which was causing the misfire according to my OBD2 scanner.
This did resolve the issue. I did end up doing 20 lb-ft even though it was scary as hell putting that much torque on them.

About a month later I replaced all 4 plugs and boots/coils. I have still not had any more issues.
