Good quality aftermarket TPMS sensors?
It was inevitable. I got four new tires exactly one year ago this week, and knew I should've replaced the TPMS sensors while the tires were off the rims. The fact that I got 10 years out of the batteries was pretty impressive, but of course I decided to "save my money" and rolled the dice. Well guess what, the TPMS light came on this week. Was it worth squeezing one more year out of them, only now to have to get the tires unmounted, new sensors installed, remounted, rebalanced? Meh.
Anyway, does anyone have a recommendation for good quality aftermarket TPMS sensors that won't break the bank? I see RockAuto has some Bosch for $22 each which come "programmed", however I'm sure the car will need to go through the re-learn process to purge the old serial numbers and learn the new ones.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has gone through this process. Lessons learned, what to look out for, what to avoid, etc.
Thanks!
