I have a 2009 fit and the hood was damaged in an accident. I found a 2008 hood cheap and it looks like the same headlights etc , just that the 2008 is smooth while a 2009 has a little raised portion down the middle , but will it fit ?

 

2007-2008 vs 2009-2013 are different generations of Fit in the US and the cars have different dimensions and shapes, so it's doubtful that the hood will transfer between generations. But, I haven't tried. If you're curious, you could take a very small number of measurements of the two hoods to determine if there's a chance, such as:
1) depth of hood from the middle front to the middle back
2) width of the hood along the front and rear edges
3) distance between the holes where the hood supports mount to the underside of the hood.
